Edgar Alanis is the President and CEO of the Northbrook-based company, Unique Upholstery, Carpet and Rug Cleaning. He expertly manages the day-to-day operations and works in the field with his partner. Before acquiring the business from its founder, Unique Larry Rosenthal, he dedicated 16 years as a technician, team lead, and job site manager. During that time, he honed his skills in cleaning and restoring upholstery, carpets, and other surfaces in residential homes. In 2024, he took the helm of the business, ready to carry on the Unique mission of providing nothing short of exceptional customer service with top-notch products.
Edgar’s journey at Unique began in 2009 as a technician, and after eight years of dedication and growth, he transitioned into a management role. He underwent IICRC training to become a certified professional in cleaning, maintenance, and restoration. Over the years, he has gained a wealth of knowledge in eco-friendly and pet-friendly products and services, becoming a diligent team leader and mentor to his peers. He has established a sterling reputation for white glove customer service among their customers.
Outside of managing Unique, Edgar is a wonderful husband and a proud father to two young boys. When he’s not busy making the world a better place, he loves watching sports (Go Cubs!), going to music and food festivals, traveling, and spending time with his family. Edgar and his wife, Jessica, have a mutual enjoyment for playing pool and have been in a pool league for 8 years.
